This project utilised a combination of timber and block walls to create a desirable end product for social housing. The timber wall was used to bring the level of the property up above the floodplain and overland flowpaths were diverted around the property. This will help to alleviate some of the recent issues Auckland has been facing with flooding. The block walls were used to frame the accessible ramp and form a neat finish to the stairs as block walls typically have better street appeal than most other forms of retaining.
