Slip Stabilisation

A stream had eroded the slope below a house to the point where a landslide had occured, this left some of the foundations of the house essentially floating in mid-air and threatened the rest of the house falling off the edge of the hill. We were called in to perform emergency repair works on the house by installing a pallisade wall / formed above ground piles with retaining. The piles were also tied back into the huse foundations with corbel beams so that the entire house was tied into the new 13m deep piles and could be hydraulically jacked back up to the correct height. This challenging project required diverting a stream, working against the clock to save the house, and poor ground conditions. The end result is the stream was returned to better than previous conditions with the slip removed, and the house is now on solid fundations that will stand the test of time and never slip again.
