Tall Beam Wall
The design of this wall allowed for the client to put a second house on the back of their extremely steep, sloping section. Creating a far more productive property! The wall we utilised was a steel retaining wall with galvanised universal beams (UB) and round poles as whalers to add the huge amount of strength required for such a tall wall. The advantage of steel retaining walls is that they can be erected on boundary lines with minimal intrusion onto the property, and can be constructed as the site is excavated. They can be built from the top down before excavation, or by battering back, depending on the site requirements. Common Applications for this type of wall are: - Slip protection and rehabilitation - Driveway retention and support - Cliff Retention - Prevention of soil erosion
